Adoption Process

  • Complete Application

If you have decided you want to submit an application, please click the button below that will lead you to our online adoption application. Once your application has been completed and submitted, it will take a few days to be processed. We will reach out to you about the approval of your application. This does not guarantee adoption. We are seeking the best home, not necessarily first come, first serve.

  • Processing

Once we receive your application, we will follow up via email or phone if we have any questions. Part of our process is a vet check where we ensure existing animals in your home are up to date on vaccines and preventatives. We also ask that you provide personal references that we may contact.

  • Meet & Greet

For the safety of our fosters and animals, an approved application is required to schedule a meet and greet.

  • Finalize Contract

Following the meet & greet, you may choose to take home the animal same day, sleep on it, or opt to proceed with an adoption trial. When you are ready to make it official, you will be sent and asked to sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee via tax deductible donation. Our adoption fee is $300 for all dogs.

Meet IVEY! The first official member of The Foster Dog House!

Ivey is a 6 month old, boxer mix (our best guess) that joined our rescue in August. She’s currently about 30 pounds and expect her to be a large breed (50+ lbs) when fully grown. She LOVES people and will smother you with kisses. She LOVES having another dog around and is entertained by toys or things to chew. We’ve taken her to several breweries and dog bars/parks and she’s done wonderful. She’s doing great with potty and crate training.

She is UTD on vaccines, preventatives, and already microchipped and spayed.

Meet MOUSSE! This 4 month old chocolate lab mix recently joined our rescue.

Mousse is a typical puppy - plays hard, then naps harder. He enjoys having another playful pup to run around with but he loves scratches from humans even more. Though we expect him to be a big boy when he’s fully grown, I bet he may try to be a lap dog as long as he can (he’s currently 25lbs).

Mousse is still working on potty training, but sleeps in his crate without protest. Practicing walking on a leash is the next step.

He is available for pre-adoption as he is still due for some vetting which the rescue will take care of.
